The aim of this course is to introduce students to ethical controversies arising in the fields of biology and medicine. The course is designed to enable students to think critically and about both traditional and contemporary issues such as euthanasia, abortion, stem cell research, cloning, and research on animals. In this course, we will examine various ethical theories and principles and apply them to such controversial biomedical issues. Students will be encouraged to develop and defend their own views.
